12 is Better Than 6 is a dynamic top-down shooter with stealth elements, presented in a Wild West theme. The story puts you in the shoes of an escaped slave fleeing to the United States in 1873.

The games art style is unique and very pretty to look at, mainly black and white with the use of red for blood spatter is a design choice I can fully get behind.

That’s the only positive aspect of the game for me. Seriously.

This game is like a top down RTS with shooter elements. It is frustrating and the fact that the controls are so janky does not help at all. I spent a good 40 minutes on a single level because of my stupidity combined with a difficult stage and controls that feel anything but responsive. This is akin to a twitch shooter where you must have almost instantaneous reactions but the controls are so bad that it causes a lot of issues.

Don’t even try playing it on a controller, the controls somehow get even worse, no button prompts for the controller, still only the keyboard, which as you can imagine, in a game where reaction times are everything, is less than ideal.

The story is practically non-existant, but the little part of the story that is there is very bland and derivative.

This game is currently £6.99 on Steam and I hope that I didn’t pay that much as it is 100% not worth it at that price. If you can get passed the janky controls and the need for near instant reaction, then it might be worth picking it up in a deep sale, but not full price.

Would I play this game again? Fuck no. I wanted to stop after half an hour, it’s just not a very well made game.
